Prepare for the NZLPE

Personalized tutoring and study materials from an experienced New Zealand Solicitor

M.S.

"The sheer volume of study required under the prescription for the New Zealand Law and Practice exams was immense. Jennifer's notes helped me tremendously. Without them I probably would not have gone through and finished the New Zealand Law and Practice exams. Her notes were thorough and I never needed to look at other resources for study.  I passed all my papers at first attempt.  Thanks Jennifer."

"Your notes were invaluable to me, as well as the pearls of wisdom you provided!"

"Jennifer's recommendation to complete practice questions was spot on. She gave a detailed critique and constructive feedback on my answers.  It really helped consolidate my learning, recall and exam technique and was great preparation. I thoroughly recommend Jennifer's services - she really helped."

“I would wholeheartedly recommend Jennifer and her website to anyone starting out on studying the New Zealand Law and Practice Examinations. There is no syllabus for the exams, other than prescription materials which comprise a list of books and cases, so Jennifer’s resources are absolutely excellent. It was a joy discovering Jennifer and I cannot underestimate that. As well as that, there is the moral support, encouragement and guidance which is invaluable, when of course, as the NZ Law and Practice Examination study is all self taught, there are no tutors, no lecturers to ask, so having Jennifer to call on, to ask questions on anything, for support and guidance is a God send.”

"You are very good at this. Not everybody can be someone else's mentor. You're awesome!!"

"Jennifer Tate Thompson provided great advice on how to apply to the NZCLE and strategies for passing the NZLPE. I've still got two more exams to go, but I've passed all attempts so far with Jennifer's help."

L.M.

"The 'journey' - that first single step! Starts here. Trust me, when it comes to passing the NZ Law & Practice Exams - I know it's where I should have started in the first place and thanks to Jennifer who I still refer to as my 'Angel' I did get there and I still credit her notes, her patience and her support in arriving at the destination. Good luck to all who strive to get there - if you take up Jennifer's offer to assist you, then with application your chances for success are good."

Jennifer Tate Thompson Bio

Jennifer Tate Thompson is an attorney and solicitor licensed in Massachusetts (2002), Texas (2005), and New Zealand (2010). Although she passed three bar examinations on her first attempt, the process was far from effortless. Success did not come easily—it was earned through relentless study, discipline, and determination. That experience laid the foundation for her cross-continental legal career, which is now based on the sunny Gulf Coast of Texas.

Jennifer spent three amazing years practising law in New Zealand, a country she holds close to her heart. Her passion for supporting others on their legal journey—particularly those seeking to practise in New Zealand—led her to develop NZLPE PREP. The programme reflects the same commitment and rigour that brought her success, and those who fully engage with the materials and put in the effort have seen outstanding results.
